Takeshita-dōri (竹下通り) or Takeshita Street in Harajuku is a pedestrian shopping street dotted with cafes, restaurants, and all sorts of boutiques. Aside from the charming shops, there are also major chain outlets but mostly small independent stores are found in the areas. Takeshita-dōri is a great place to discover the latest Japanese trends and innovative products.

Takeshita Street was once a go-to place for replicas of Japanese and American street brand goods from the 1990’s to the early 2000’s. With the government tightening measures on imitation merchandise, other items emerged and  were made popular in Takeshita-dōri.

Just a stone’s throw away from the exit of JP East”s Harajuku Station, Takeshita-dōri is a popular shopping place for the young crowd. It’s the perfect spot for kawaii finds!
